Research Assistant to Study Blood-Biomaterials Interactions

Job Description

Graduate RA position is available in Proteins-Polymers at Interfaces research group ( to work on a new NIH funded research project focused on blood platelets - biomaterial surface interactions. The project seeks to establish the role of upstream platelet-agonist contacts in determining biomaterial's hemocompatilbility. Preference will be given to graduate students who are pursuing PhD degree and who are highly-motivated and interested in compatibility of blood-contacting materials.

Required Experience

The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in engineering or life science and be in a bioengineering PhD program here at the University of Utah. Understanding of blood hemodynamics and previous experiences in the areas of surface modifications, microfluidics, optical microscopy, and working with blood cells are plus.
