Current Research

Cells use signaling pathways to continuously sense, integrate, and adapt to their environment. The Mendoza lab aims to understand how the diverse and fluctuating extracellular signals act on the cytoskeleton to drive the pathological migration that initiates cancer metastasis. Our lab focuses on the major oncogenic signaling pathways commonly mutated during cancer progression. We use quantitative phospho-proteomics to identify kinase-mediated signals to the cytoskeleton and live-cell imaging and computer vision to dissect their role in cell movement.
